Welcome to the Dina Martini & The Jet Set web site.
As we look back on the 1950's and the early 1960's, we remember a simpler time. A time when we Americans appeared wholesome and life here was relaxed and uncomplicated. We had oodles of leisure time. Men brought home the bacon and women fried it up in a pan. Automobiles with white-walled tires, two-toned paint jobs and gargantuan fins were parked in every driveway. Cigarettes were not yet bad for you and one of the chic-est, swingin'-est ways to spend our oodles of leisure time was the "Cocktail Party". Thus was born music of the Lounge.
As American as Apple pie and Apple Martini's, they jet set their way to your hip scene or local Lounge. Serving up a mixture of musical cocktails from all your favorite sophisticates, like Frank, Sammy and Dean. And, of course, those sultry, dulcet-toned cool kittens like Peggy Lee, Julie London and Keely Smith.
This project takes us back to those "devil-may-care" times when the music was as cheesy as the fondue! But even at it's cheesiest there always remained the unmistakable elements of style, ease and sophistication.
So mix up a cocktail, melt down some Velveeta and prepare for a swingin' time.... Dina
